(Sioux Falls, SD) — Democrat Nikki Gronli publicly launches her campaign for South Dakota’s lone U.S. House seat Wednesday, telling supporters in Sioux Falls she’ll fight for farmers, tourism, and working families. Gronli, a former USDA Rural Development director, says Washington is hurting South Dakota’s top industries and promises to push back on tariffs, rising costs, and threats to Social Security. She’s running for the seat currently held by Congressman Dusty Johnson, who is campaigning for governor, joining a crowded 2026 race that includes Republicans Marty Jackley and Casey Crabtree and Democrat Billy Mawhiney.
