The South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce says rising anti-immigrant sentiment and the governor’s partnership with ICE make the event unsafe. The festival, which was set for September 15th, was first held in 2023. Organizers say canceling is necessary to protect the community while promoting dignity and safety.
