(Undated) — South Dakota leaders are condemning political violence after conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at a college event in Utah. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says there’s no place for political violence, while Republicans Senator Mike Rounds and Congressman Dusty Johnson ask for prayers for Kirk and his family. Attorney General Marty Jackley and Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen also stress that violence is never the answer. South Dakota Democratic Party Chair Shane Merrill said the violence must stop now. Governor Rhoden has ordered flags at half-staff statewide for Kirk.
