(Bismarck, ND) — A man will spend at least 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor. Isiah Simms was sentenced to life in prison with parole yesterday in connection with the assault case. Investigators say the man was found with a ten-year-old girl on the state capitol grounds in August 2024. Simms pleaded guilty to four counts of gross sexual imposition. A judge sentenced him to serve 25 years with the remainder of his sentence suspended, in addition to a five-year supervised probationary period upon his release.
