(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota has a new lawmaker for District 16. Governor Larry Rhoden has appointed John Shubeck to fill the House seat left vacant after the death of Representative Richard Vasgaard. Shubeck is a Marine Corps veteran, a Centerville track coach, and a fifth-generation farmer. He says he’s honored to continue Vasgaard’s legacy by putting the people of District 16 first. The appointment is effective immediately.
