(Minot, ND) — Governor Kelly Armstrong says a new B-52 unit is created to provide operation support at Minot Air Force Base. The Air Force’s 5th Bomb Wing and the Air National Guard’s 119th Wing will work together with the new B-52 Operational Classic Association detachment. Officials say about forty additional personnel could be brought to the base by next October. It’s the second North Dakota Air National Guard detachment at the base. Humvees and BearCat vehicles will also be replaced by reinforced armor Ford trucks over the next few years.
