(Sioux Falls, SD) — Better Business Bureau officials are warning South Dakotans to be cautious with online car deals and say if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. A Sioux Falls man claims he nearly got scammed while looking for a used car online. Mike Henriksen contacted sellers on social media, all claiming they were selling cars cheaply because of divorces or moves, and all pushing buyers to eBay links. Sensing something wasn’t right, he reached out to the South Dakota BBB, which helped him avoid losing thousands of dollars.
