(Bismarck, ND) — Daniel Christensen now faces federal charges involving illicit material. The former McKenzie County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested on Monday after being indicted by a grand jury late last month. Authorities received a tip late last year that Christensen allegedly possessed illicit pictures involving children, leading to his arrest and being charged with 44 criminal counts at the state level. The charges were dropped just before the case was made federal, where he now faces three counts. Christensen is now scheduled to begin his federal trial in November.
