(Bismarck, ND) — Grocery stores in eleven North Dakota rural communities are getting a funding boost to improve resources. Officials recently announced that a total of one-million-dollars through the Rural Grocery Store Sustainability Grant program will help small-town economies improve their food access while reducing costs. This includes equipment upgrades at stores and enhancing their automated systems. The eleven communities include Lakota, Tokio, Bowman, and Munich. The sustainability program was established and passed by state lawmakers during the 2025 legislative session.
