(Linton, ND) — Investigators are releasing new details about the death of a Linton woman. Heather Caras went missing on January 24th this year after driving away from her home, with her vehicle located near Beavery Bay along Lake Oahe the next day. A farmer later discovered the 39-year-old’s body on May 25th in a field three miles from where her vehicle was abandoned. Authorities now say that a final autopsy report found no evidence of foul play or drug use related to Caras’s death. Investigators do believe she was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time and will keep the case open for now.
