MN Man Charged With Fatal Fargo Hit-And-Run Pleads Not Guilty

(Fargo, ND) — A Minnesota man accused of a fatal hit-and-run in downtown Fargo is pleading not guilty. Forty-three-year-old Jeremy Jorgenson was charged on April 1st after he allegedly hit and ran over 61-year-old Bernd Scholz multiple times on March 12th near NP Avenue and 10th Street. The victim was riding his bicycle before being hit by an SUV that reportedly matched Jorgenson’s. The man told authorities he thought he hit a pothole, which is why he did not stop to render aid to Scholz. Jorgenson entered a not guilty plea this week to a single felony count of duty in an accident involving a death, with his next court appearance scheduled for October 30th for a disposition hearing.
