(Devils Lake, ND) — Investigators are releasing new details about a stand-off between a former Devils Lake police officer and law enforcement earlier this month. Thirty-seven-year-old Rey Hennen was immediately fired after a six-hour standoff with authorities on September 8th, which was sparked by a sexual assault investigation. Police attempted to arrest Hennen at his home, as he reportedly held a baby in his hand while holding a gun in the other hand during the confrontation. Investigators say Hennen eventually pulled the trigger, as the projectile traveled toward officers and nearby homes without any reported injuries. He now faces a felony charge of reckless endangerment and faces up to a decade in prison if convicted.
