(Bismarck, ND) — A pair of North Dakota tribes will receive grants for veteran housing programs. Senator Kevin Cramer recently announced that the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority will receive over 348-thousand-dollars, while the Standing Rock Authority will be awarded over 260-thousand-dollars. Cramer says that the grants “are an excellent tool to combat tribal veteran homelessness,” as Native Americans are “at the highest rates of any demographic group in our country’s armed forces.” The Tribal HUD-VA Supportive Housing grant initiative will provide the funding for both tribes.
