(Washington, DC) — Governor Rhoden is calling on Congress to avoid a government shutdown, joining 24 other Republican governors in a letter to Senate leaders. The letter urges passage of a short-term funding extension, which has already passed the House, to keep the government running and protect Americans from financial harm. Rhoden and the other Republican governors say the extension is especially critical to maintain Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire at the end of the year. A stopgap funding bill would keep the government from shutting down after funding expires today.
