(Rolette County, ND) — The Rolette County Commission is back to full membership after appointing a citizen to fill a vacancy. Cameron Mickelson will fill the open seat after former Commissioner Craig Poitra resigned from the board earlier this month amid criminal charges related to a 2017 sexual assault case. Mickelson was selected yesterday after the commission voted for someone they believed would promote the county’s goals without conflicts of interest. Mickelson was one of 21 citizens who submitted letters of interest for the seat. He will now serve until November 2026 and will need to run for election to maintain his position.
