(Undated) — South Dakota wheat is making global strides. A Taiwanese trade delegation visited the state and several others this month, pledging to buy one-point-three billion dollars’ worth of U.S. wheat between 2026 and 2029. South Dakota Trade President Jesse Fonkert says the deal strengthens South Dakota’s role in international agriculture, with wheat exports already topping 400-million dollars over the past year. Taiwan is also looking at other U.S. commodities like soybeans, corn, and beef, as part of its push to become a top trade partner in East Asia.
