(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City voters will get the final say on the future of the Libertyland USA project. A petition drive succeeded in forcing a special election on whether to approve a 125-million-dollar tax financing district for the proposed 300-acre site with an amusement park, RV resort and indoor water park. The city validated more than 43-hundred signatures, well over the number needed. The council will set an election date Monday, which could come as soon as November or as late as next June during the municipal election.
