(Grand Forks, ND) — The Grand Forks Air Force Base is receiving a nearly 20-million-dollars boost to make runway repairs. The U.S. Department of War awarded the funds through a contract to United Crane and Excavation to repair cracking and weathering on the runway pavement. Senator Kevin Cramer made the announcement yesterday following his advocacy efforts for funding to make the repairs. The almost 20-million-dollars will cover multiple areas for the project, including planning, travel, and labor costs for construction. The work is expected to be completed by September 2026.
