(Parker, SD) — Construction on the new Turner County Courthouse is maintaining its original completion timeline. Officials say the 19-million-dollar project will soon move on to pouring concrete floors after crews began work this past June. The original courthouse was demolished in February after several structural issues were found at the 120-year-old building, including a leaking roof and concerns about potential roof cave-ins. Journey Construction Superintendent Ryan Preheim says his team hopes to enclose the building before the wintertime. The courthouse could be completed as early as next fall, pending any major disruptions.
