(Adams County, ND) — A noxious weed has been identified in Adams County. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture says an agricultural producer in the county recently noticed palmer amaranth while moving on their property and reported it. The noxious weed can be spread through people, animals, machinery, and waste products while impacting crop yields if not contained. State law requires North Dakotans “to do all things necessary and proper to control the spread of noxious weeds.” Additional details about how to stop the spread and landowner assistance for noxious weeds can be found on the North Dakota Department of Agriculture website.
