(Sioux Falls, SD) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating two fatal crashes that happened in two separate counties this weekend. Authorities say the first crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of 399th Avenue and 237th Street in Sanborn County. A 30-year-old Texas man was killed, and a second Texas man was hospitalized after a truck was reportedly parked on railroad tracks when it was struck by a train. Another fatal crash happened around 11:15 p.m. in Lincoln County near the intersection of 275th Street and Highway 17. A vehicle entered a ditch, causing a 51-year-old Sioux Falls man to be ejected and killed at the scene, as another Sioux Falls man was transported to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Both incidents remain under investigation, as additional details have not been released at this time.
