Experts Confirm EF5 Tornado Struck U.S.

(Grand Forks, ND) — Experts are confirming that it was an EF5 tornado that touched down in parts of North Dakota in June. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, North Dakota, upgraded the monstrous storm to an EF5 on Monday after additional investigation by weather service meteorologists. The tornado first hit near Enderlin, North Dakota and tracked north for nearly 20 minutes before ending near Alice and resulting in three fatalities. The last confirmed EF5 tornado tore through Oklahoma in 2013, killing 24 people and injuring more than 200 others.
