Select Specialty Hospital says its 24-bed critical illness recovery department will wind down operations soon due to space issues. Demand for Sanford’s acute care services is growing and requires the space where Select Specialty operates. SSH specializes in helping people recover from brain injuries and heart conditions. The closure will take effect by the end of the year, with an estimated 90 employees to be impacted.
