(Pennington County, SD) — Authorities have identified the victims of a fatal vehicle accident that happened last week in Pennington County. Five people died in the single-car crash on October 1st, three miles east of Scenic on Highway 44. Investigators say the driver, Chad Doyle Junior, failed to negotiate a curve before entering a ditch, which caused the vehicle to catch fire. Byron Joey Bear Killer, Twila Whitney Hard Heart, Danielle Lee Long Soldier, and a ten-year-old child were identified as the passengers also killed at the scene. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
