(Burlington, ND) — City of Burlington property owners can expect taxes to remain fairly stable this upcoming year. City council members recently approved a budget that doesn’t use any of the three percent increase allowed under state law in its nearly 448-thousand-dollar levy request. The city can now carry over the three percent up to five years if needed to support a future budget. The 2026 budget includes just over 406-thousand-dollars for general spending and highway funds. City Auditor Sarah Karloff says residents will also see a slight increase in garbage rates due to the city passing on an increase from the sanitation service provider.
