(Brookings, SD) — The South Dakota State University Alumni Association and South Dakota State University Foundation will consolidate next year. The SDSU Alumni and Foundation unanimously voted on the decision during the first-ever joint meeting of their respective boards late last week. The university’s two largest supporting organizations have discussed the idea of consolidation since 2017, as conversations ramped up following the close of the foundation’s historic Bold & Blue comprehensive campaign in April 2024. SDSU President Barry Dunn says the university is appreciative of “the forward-thinking approach of the two organizations to serve SDSU well into the future.” Both groups are set to consolidate, effective January 1st, 2026.
