NDDPI Responds To Federal Education Staff Reductions

(Bismarck, ND) — State officials are responding to the statewide impact of federal staffing reductions at the U.S. Department of Education. The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction says it’s primarily focused on the effects of cuts to DOE’s Office of Special Education Programs and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. Officials are assuring the public that federal staffing cuts will not immediately impact students, as the NDDPI will continue monitoring any future developments while prioritizing North Dakota communities. NDDPI says all federal funding for the current year has already been received and distributed to schools, and that educators, students, and families will continue to receive support and access to the resources they need.
