(Bismarck, ND) — Xcel Energy is proposing a rate increase for customers across North Dakota. During public input sessions this week, leaders at the North Dakota Public Service Commission say the increase would amount to a small portion of what customers already pay. Officials estimate an average increase of just over 22-dollars for residential customers, if the new rate proposal is approved. This would amount to just under 45-million-dollars in revenue for Xcel Energy, which is less than 20-percent of their current revenue. Officials plan to vote on the proposed increase in December.
