(Brookings, SD) — One man is in custody after an alleged stabbing incident in Brookings. Police say they received a call yesterday around 9:30 a.m. regarding an altercation between a man and his ex-girlfriend at a residence near Birch Avenue and Orchard Drive. Thirty-one-year-old Shawn Running Horse is accused of engaging in a domestic assault against a 37-year-old victim inside the home, where the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times with a knife. The victim was transported to the hospital in an unspecified condition for her injuries. Running Horse was charged with felony aggravated assault and domestic violence for the incident.
