(Undated) — North Dakota livestock leaders are disappointed after President Trump suggested the U.S. buys beef from Argentina. Cattlemen across the country are calling the proposal a betrayal. The nonpartisan agricultural watchdog group, Farm Action, said, “President Trump risks acting more like the president of Argentina than president of the United States.” As herds are smaller and the demand for beef remaining steady, producers are pushing prices to a record high. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, ground beef has risen about 70 cents per pound in the last year.
