(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota has a new Superintendent of Public Instruction – Levi Bachmeier. In a statement, Governor Kelly Armstrong said Bachmeier has “established himself as a trusted voice and highly capable leader in K-through-twelve education over the past decade.” He’s set to serve the remainder of the current term, which has just over two years left after the early departure of Kirsten Baesler, the previous superintendent. As the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Bachmeier will oversee 169 public school districts across the state.
