Moorhead High Students Walking Out and Protesting Over Safety Concerns

(Moorhead, MN) — Moorhead High students are walking out and protesting over safety concerns. The main focus will be recent gun-related incidents in the Moorhead High School Career Academy building as well as the Annunciation school shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Rally for Justice will be held today at 11 a.m. with the on-going ICE raids throughout the country as another issue. Organizers have made clear the event is not an excuse to cut classes and that students who leave school should participate. The Moorhead High principal said the event is not school or district-sponsored, but they support students’ rights to express their views in a respectful and responsible manner.
