AG Jackley Supports Proof of Citizenship for Voter Registration

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota’s Marty Jackley is joining more than a dozen other state attorneys general who support a petition that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote. The petition from the American First Legal Foundation urges the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to require proof of U.S. citizenship on federal voter registration forms. The coalition includes 14 state attorneys general. Jackley says proof of citizenship helps protect our elections.
