(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are endorsing an application for the federal Rural Health Transformation Program. The initiative could bring around 100-million-dollars annually to improve rural health care over five years. Lawmakers also advanced bills expanding pharmacists’ scope and to join a multi-state physician assistant licensure compact. The pharmacist bill would allow pharmacists to order lab tests and prescribe some medications. The committee will meet in December to review the submitted federal application.
