High-Speed Chase In Minot Ends In Fiery Crash

(Minot, ND) — A 27-year-old man is in custody after a high-speed pursuit yesterday morning ended in a fiery crash that caused a temporary power outage in southeast Minot. Officers attempted to stop the driver of a BMW just before 2 a.m. for erratic driving and operating without headlights. However, the vehicle sped away reaching 100-miles-per-hour, prompting officers to end the chase. The driver then crashed into a transformer box after failing to navigate a roundabout. He is now being charged with SUP, Striking Highway Fixtures, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
