The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Department is investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl in Eagle Butte.
Authorities say officers and medical responders were called to City Park around 6:35 Sunday morning for a report of an unresponsive person.
When they arrived, they found the teenage girl and began life-saving efforts, but she could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say there is no indication of any threat to the public.
The circumstances surrounding the girl’s death remain under active investigation.
