(Detroit, MI) — J.J. McCarthy had a strong performance in his return from injury as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Detroit Lions 27-24 at Ford Field. The Vikings quarterback threw for touchdowns on Minnesota’s first two drives of the game, and he added a rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Minnesota iced the game when McCarthy threw a perfect back-shoulder pass to Jalen Nailor for a first down. The Vikings remain at the bottom of the NFC North with a 4-and-4 record. They host the Ravens on Sunday.
