(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota lays out a billion-dollar plan in application for federal healthcare funds. The federal Rural Health Transformation Program allocates 50 billion dollars to improve rural healthcare across the country. Governor Kelly Armstrong and HHS Commissioner Pat Traynor said the funding is an opportunity for the state to transform and strengthen rural health care in the state. Half of that funding will be allocated evenly to states regardless of the states’ applications while the other half will be given based on applications. The Legislature’s Rural Health Transformation Committee will review the application in December.
