Deer gun season opens tomorrow across North Dakota, and Game and Fish officials say nearly 50,000 hunters will be heading out this month.
Hunters are urged to double-check licenses and tags, know the rules, and make safety the top priority.
Greg Gullickson with North Dakota Game and Fish says to wear proper blaze orange, watch for other hunters, and respect landowners. He also reminds hunters to keep firearms unloaded when getting in and out of vehicles, and to be cautious with road and weather conditions.
Officials say the number of available deer tags is at one of its lowest levels in decades due to changing habitat conditions and recent severe winters.
