Thune Says Shutdown Could End Soon

(Washington, DC) — South Dakota Senator John Thune says the federal government shutdown could end soon. The Senate Majority Leader told KELOLAND News “it could end today, it could end tomorrow.” He says there’s a bill at the desk that ends the shutdown and Republicans are trying to work with “some of the more reasonable Democrats.” The Senate is set to vote today on a pathway to end the shutdown, which is now the longest in U.S. history.
