(Missoula, MT) — Hunters are helping wildlife experts track disease outbreaks by getting their deer kills tested at check stations during rifle season. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is keeping an eye out for Chronic Wasting Disease and Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease. Officials say the latter disease has already killed many deer near Missoula. These diseases don’t affect humans, but experts are working to stop them from spreading to more wildlife.
