BISMARCK, N.D. — The U.S. House has voted to end the record-breaking 42-day government shutdown, sending the funding bill to President Donald Trump and he approved. The measure passed 222–209, following Senate approval earlier this week.

North Dakota’s congressional delegation praised the vote, saying it’s time to get the government running again.

Representative Julie Fedorchak called the shutdown “needless hardship” and said the bill ensures vital funding for farmers, ranchers, and veterans.

Senator John Hoeven said the package restores regular order in the appropriations process and includes key agriculture funding. Senator Kevin Cramer celebrated the shutdown’s end, calling it a “record-breaking” ordeal that should not be repeated.
