(Spirit Lake Reservation, ND) — A 26-year-old man facing a second-degree murder charge after his brother’s remains were discovered behind their father’s home on the Spirit Lake Reservation. According to the criminal complaint filed Monday, D’Angelo Hunt is being charged in connection to the death of his brother Isaac Hunt, who has been missing since March 2024. On Sunday, family members found what appeared to be a human skull, which led to the discovery of additional remains the next day. According to court documents, the two brothers had a violent altercation in the father’s home on March 3rd, 2024. The case falls under federal jurisdiction because both D’Angelo and Isaac are members of the Spirit Lake Tribe.
