news

(Des Moines, IA) — A snowstorm is moving into Iowa. Most of the state is under a Winter Storm Warning from today at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday at 6:00 a.m. Snowfall totals could range from eight to 13 inches, and officials say hazardous conditions are expected to impact post-holiday travel across much of the Hawkeye state.

That snow is first impacting parts of Montana and South Dakota with a few counties under a Winter Storm Warning and multiple Winter Weather Advisories on Friday. Snowfall totals through much of the northeastern half of South Dakota will range anywhere from two to seven inches with light fluffy snow and wind gusts 20-35 MPH. Snowfall totals should range from one to four inches across much of Montana as the system exits today and heads for Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
