(Brookings, SD) — The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office says traffic violations have increased this year. There have been about 17-hundred traffic stops this year and about 800 of them were for speeding. One spot where speeding violations have increased is on the 204 near Highway 30. Authorities blame the increase on heavier traffic resulting from the Highway 28 closure in Estelline.
