(Bismarck, ND) — Xcel Energy is lowering its initial electric rate hike by nearly eleven-percent. Northern States Power originally asked for an increase of about 24-percent for North Dakota customers but it has since lowered the proposal to around 13-percent. The rate will still need to be voted on for approval. A Public Service Commission vote could come as soon as January. Xcel has about 97-thousand customers in North Dakota.
