(Bismarck, ND) — The state’s manufacturing economy remains in contraction, with the Business Conditions Index at 49.9 for November. The survey showed employment and wage growth are on the lower side, with the index at 47.6. About 40-percent of supply managers reported wages lagged behind rising costs. Unemployment claims edged up just over one-percent compared with the same period in 2024. Trade activity also remains sluggish, with low export and import orders, while inventories stayed mostly flat.
