(Manhattan, KS) — Kansas State head football coach Chris Klieman is calling it a career. Klieman informed his team of his plans to retire on Wednesday afternoon after seven seasons with the program. The Wildcats finished the 2025 regular season at 6-and-6 after back-to-back nine-win seasons. Klieman was head coach at North Dakota State from 2014 to 2018, leading NDSU to four FCS Championships in five seasons as coach, before taking the job at Kansas State.
ESPN is reporting that former K-State star quarterback and Texas A&M’s current offensive coordinator Collin Klein is the target for the job. Klein is expected to remain with the Aggies through the team’s College Football Playoff run.
