(Washington, DC) — Millions in the Midwest are dealing with freezing temperatures. A polar blast of freezing air from Canada is plunging into the U.S. today and tomorrow, potentially breaking dozens of daily record low temperatures from the Plains to the Northeast. Today, temperatures were in the teens below zero in areas of Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota. The cold weather will persist through the afternoon with parts of the Midwest seeing temperatures of 25 degrees below average for this time of year. Tomorrow, single digit lows are expected to be felt from the Great Lakes to New England.
