(Minot, ND) — The Northwest Area Water Supply project likely won’t be pumping water to Minot until 2026. Once complete, the NAWS project will pump 90-percent of the city’s water from Lake Sakakawea. It was originally expected to be complete in July but it faced some delays, like defective underdrains. Utilities director Jason Sorenson says the Max plant should be running by mid-2026, while the Snake Creek plant should be operational by early next year.
